Young person’s counsellor and founder of Don’t Lose Hope
I have worked with children and young people for more than 20 years in both education, and social care establishments. I discovered the part of my job I loved most was working one to one and seeing young people overcome their difficulties and flourish as individuals. I retrained as a counsellor and spent four years providing a counselling service in local secondary schools. During this time I found many other family members were also in need of counselling. I wanted to create a service that offers people free, or affordable counselling from childhood through to old age, in one place. With lots of help from my husband Dom, and an incredible team of volunteers and trustees Don’t Lose Hope was established.
