Lis Pinner

Adult Counsellor

Sometimes life can be challenging, and we can be presented with occasions or incidents that we struggle to comprehend, leading to conflicting emotions that we can’t quite make sense of on our own.  These feelings can lead to anxiety, low mood, a lack of motivation and self-esteem, and a feeling that no one understands what we are going through.

As a qualified person-centred therapist with a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, I would like to support you to find your own answers and perhaps a new perspective of life.  I will offer the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings within a warm, safe and empathetic space and help you to gain a greater understanding of yourself.  I can also work collaboratively with you as we explore different approaches of therapy that are better suited to your individual needs, be it through focussing on your well-being or developing coping mechanisms to help you through challenging times.

Grief can be overwhelming and might affect us emotionally, physically and may adversely affect our mental health.   There is no ‘right’ way to grieve, and we react in our own way.  No one should have to deal with it alone and, having volunteered as a Bereavement Volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Support, I can offer support, respect and understanding as you grieve.

I feel extremely privileged to work for Don’t Lose Hope, which is such an inspiring and supportive Charity, and to have the opportunity to offer support to those in need in the local community.
