Chloe Templeman

Café Manager

I started volunteering for Don’t Lose Hope initially during the first summer of opening, you would have found me in the back kitchen baking, I didn’t venture out the front at all. I then started volunteering at the youth cafe before covid locked us all down and I then helped on the mobile mini bus! Fast forward a couple of years, some sprinkle of confidence, I eventually had the courage to take that step out the front, I was initially assistant cafe manager and I stepped up to cafe manager in April 2023.

I couldn’t do it without the support from the fabulous colleagues and volunteers. I love my job and I love the ethos of Don’t Lose Hope, it’s humbling how many people they have had an impact on so many people and to be apart of them is so rewarding.

I have struggled myself and to be able to help and support others to grow in confidence and flourish, that’s job satisfaction right there, if I can inspire even 1 person a day, then that’s a job well done!

I’ve made so many lovely friendships through Don’t Lose Hope that I’ll forever be grateful for and it is a pleasure to welcome you into the cafe, it’s not just a job or a cafe, it’s a community, it’s the Don’t Lose Hope family
