Alison Potter

Adult and Young Person Counsellor

 B.ED (Hons)

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.

I qualified as a Primary teacher in 1991 and worked in Primary education for 25 years. Emotional support and the development of resilience in our young people is very important to me. Whilst working as a Bereavement Volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care, I decided to re train and follow this passion. I qualified as a Counsellor in 2020 and became a registered member of the BACP.  I then gained a Level 5 diploma in Children and Young People’s Counselling. I have worked with various charities including Mind, Casy and Cruse with clients of all ages.  I am very proud to be involved in the brilliant work of Don’t Lose Hope.

I offer a predominantly Person Centred approach which means that I will put your needs at the centre of all of our work,  respecting  and utilising  your strengths and offering non- judgemental support and empathy to enable you to find your own best way forward.
